WestEd Senior Research Director Katie Drummond has over 20 years of experience with research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects designed to improve learner outcomes in literacy, early childhood, and special education. Drummond has designed and directed complex, mixed-methods research and evaluation studies covering a range of intervention, practice and policy topics. Her projects involve collaborating with multiple teams and partners at the local, state, and federal level. She has experience designing studies, collecting, and analyzing extant and primary data, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and generating reports on program implementation and children’s educational outcomes. Drummond oversaw dissemination of research and resources to help put research into practice via reports, presentations, graphics, webinars, and events. Drummond received her BS from Northwestern University and her MA and PhD in educational psychology from the University of California at Los Angeles.
