Trevor Fronius is a director in the Justice and Prevention group at WestEd and a criminologist with a focus and expertise in using research and evaluation methods to help local, state, and federal interest holders address issues related to school and community violence and safety. His research and evaluation over the past 15 years has involved working with youths, families, and communities, using a variety of methods aimed at improving ecological conditions that foster safety and well-being for individuals, families, and communities. The research and evaluation undertaken by Fronius is funded by local, state, federal, and philanthropic partners and addresses issues related to community violence intervention and prevention, school police, behavioral threat assessment, school climate and safety, restorative practices, reentry and diversion, and opportunity and systems-impacted youth. His work over the years has informed statewide funding policies for community violence intervention, philanthropic investment strategies for community violence, and state and local policy recommendations related to school safety and student supports.
