I. Yelee Jo is a Senior Research Associate at WestEd with extensive experience in leading successful evaluations of large-scale programs and interventions designed to improve instruction and educational outcomes. She has a strong track record of recruiting and establishing strong partnerships with district leaders, educators, families, and developers to support teaching and learning. Jo’s expertise includes working with young children and families in usability testing, classroom feasibility studies, and implementation and efficacy research for educational technology tools.
Before joining WestEd, Jo led efficacy studies and product development on summer learning, family and community engagement, and literacy programs at Scholastic Inc. Earlier in her career, she was a preschool–grade 8 teacher, campus administrator, and curriculum developer for an English immersion school network. She holds an MA in learning sciences from Northwestern University and a BA in political science from Villanova University.
