Steve A. Schneider has over 30 years of experience in STEM education. Starting his career as a high school teacher, he developed outstanding professional learning facilitator skills. Early in his career at WestEd, Schneider provided hundreds of teachers with professional support through these learning opportunities. He is the founder of WestEd’s STEM program, currently consisting of the content areas of science and engineering, mathematics, and learning and technology.
Dr. Schneider received a BA in biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in the design and evaluation of educational programs with an emphasis in science, mathematics, and technology education from Stanford University. He has a State of California Life Teaching Credential from California State University, San Jose.
